Hello, today starting the video posts about the different training methods that speedskaters are using to get in shape during summer. Revealing huuuuge secrets on why speedskaters have so darn big legs! Go ahead and mimic ;)
As most speedskaters already know this stuff, it is meant more for my readers who do not know the foggiest about speedskating. They're not meant to be model examples on how to do this stuff. They're the way how I'm doing it and I always strive to be as good as possible, but as of course I will never become perfect so there's always small things to improve here and there. But that is the reason for training eh? Still reading the book and probably get half way by tomorrow with the off day. Maybe a time for a barber shop visit after having a massage? Starting to look like Chewbacca again.
With this training the biggest goal is to get used to skating a turn. To get some more power and feeling on how to really push efficiently using the whole length of that left foot as this is a lot harder for the so called inner leg on the turn. And in the end as you might see my face turning red and sharp grin? Oh yeah there's a definite burn on the left front thigh :D Particular things to look is that spine, head, hip, knee and ankle should be pretty much linear on one line and I thought I made a decent effort today keeping it together. Also no hopping, the hip should travel steadily at the same level all the time, and of course to make it feel as heavy and hard as possible I try to maintain that pressure under the foot that is working all the way.
In Finnish too: tätä me sanotaan Suomessa kaarreköydeksi. :) Toiset käyttää venyviä köysiä mutta oon huomannu että itelle toimii parhaiten tuommonen jäykkä sidontaliina.
